My wife and I have been mermaid collectors for years. Our home is full of mermaid paintings, sculptures, accents, and collectibles! About 10 years ago, I decided to try my hand at making my own mermaid illustrations, and my hobby has evolved to what you see now. No formal art training, just a desire to learn Photoshop and maybe add to some mermaid mythology.

> I work with 'mermaids' all over the world through emails, using digital photography and Photoshop primarily. When someone wants me to help her discover her inner siren, I ask a few questions even before any photos are sent: Who is your mermaid? What is her name? What are her symbols, her likes and dislikes? Colors? Personality traits? This interaction helps the mermaid model feel more like a partner in the finished illustration.
