I'm a self-taught artist, been drawing since I can remember. I've always loved fairies and the fantasy realm. My very first art book was "The World of Froud" I saved up for it, I think I was about 12! Gosh that was a loong time ago! :) I couldn't stop looking at that book and knew then that I wanted to paint fairies and I still do!
My medium is colored pencil, mixed-media. The mixed-media being watercolor, acrylic and a little airbrush. I have a studio in my home that is crammed with all my favorite things. I collect fairies and mermaids. I admit it I collect Barbies! I especially like the fantasy ones,more elaborate ones,and of course I buy all the fairy ones.
I adore and have tons of Kirks Folly fantasy jewelry too! I love collecting other fantasy artists work/ books etc..Anything related to the fairy realm.
Being able to paint fantasy art is a wonderful thing! Just being able to share my visions with others, and seeing that it brings a smile to someone is very rewarding! With all the terrible things going on around us at times, it is a great escape even for a minute!
Wings and glittering fairydust go hand in hand with my art. I can't resist adding wings and just the right amount of sparkle to my work!
