Fairy Decorating Ideas for the rest of your house

I have a clean designed living room that still has room for my fairies and mermaids. I like to keep my flat surfaces clean of clutter so I have shelves above my windows to display my fairies and mermaids. I have them placed sparingly next to framed fairy & mermaid prints (on the shelves also) and family pictures. I even have some staggered shelves on 2 adjoining walls that complement each other. I like to think my decorating style is a mix between beach cottage, eclectic, traditional and shabby chic country. Maybe it is a style all my own. I love to work with textures and lighting. During the day I open all of my curtains to let in as much light as possible. At night I like to have a more intimate setting with my fairy lamps lit on my desk and on my armoire. I have a victorian mermaid lamp on my bedside table. These are perfect when you need light but not a whole lot. I keep a fairy luminare lamp by David Delamare on my armoire in my living room. (I get alot of compliments on this lamp!) It is great when you are watching movies and you turn off all the other lights. The fairies look so real!

Ok, maybe you are more into the shabby chic or eclectic fairy style... If you are into collecting fairy figurines and such, I would suggest lots of shelves or a curio cabinet to keep them dust free. You could drape flower garland over either to have more of a fairy garden type of feel. Sheer curtains would look more flowing. I would suggest sticking with a certain frame theme for your fairy prints. You know either all silver, or all gold, my personal choice is all antique white and black wood frames. I think they look best grouped together as a collection instead of scattered everywhere. I usually group them by the colors in the print and theme.
